The Suontaka Sword - Custom Variations
The original sword was found in a woman's grave in Finland. It
is known that the grave dates from c.1100AD, but the sword form suggests an earlier date of origin
(as early as mid C10th AD). The original was made with grip and hilt entirely in bronze. Our previous unique versions have included stag and purpleheart variations.
The Stag marries the zoomorphic knotwork bronze hilt and pommel with grip sections in carved Highland stag antler.
The purpleheart insets the bronze knotwork grip panels to purpleheart wood sections to create a stunning material contrast.
