Hostels
Brodie's Backpacker Hostel:
+44 131 556 6770. 12 High Street, Royal Mile. Convenient for evening events,
less handy for the daytime venue. Dormitories (three mixed, one women-only)
£13 - £15, Double room £48 per night.
Edinburgh Backpackers Hostel:
+44 131 220 1717. 65 Cockburn St. Just off
the Royal Mile, where it crosses North Bridge. So handy for evening venues
again, less so for the daytime venue. Dormitories £16.50 - £21, private rooms £19.25 - £30.
Castle Rock Hostel:
+44 131 225 9666. 15 Johnston Terrace. Getting further up the Mile, this is right next to the Castle, not quite as convenient as the previous two (and it's uphill at the end of the day), but bigger. Dormitories £13. There are private rooms, but they look to be all booked.
Guest Houses
Dene Guest House:
+44 141 556 2700. 7 Eyre Place. This is only a couple of minutes' walk from
the daytime venue, so if you're worried about carrying the heavy bags about,
this is the most convenient: Eyre Place is the other side of Dundas from Henderson Row. Single and Double rooms available. 11 rooms of varying size, from £19 - £160.
Ravensdown Guest House:
+44 131 552 5438. 248 Ferry Road. £55 - £175, but that's per-room, depending on the number of occupants.
Ardleigh Guest House:
+44 131 552 1833. 260 Ferry Road. £30 - £40 per person, per night.
Garfield Guest House:
+44 131 552 2369. 264 Ferry Road. From £27.50 per person per night.
