We will be having a gathering on the Friday evening, for welcome drinks, at the Haymarket Bar in the West End, a recently-refurbished pub with a bewildering array of real ales.
We have the balcony area reserved from 8pm: go in, go up.
Food will be available all day and evening, until 10pm, should you wish to order anything. Or if you prefer to eat earlier, that's fine.
Location
The Haymarket Bar is between five and ten minutes' walk west from Princes Street, offering splendid views of the tram works along the way... A variety of buses go nearby (3, 33, 31, 4, 44, 12, 26, to name just a few), but thanks to the Haymarket's position on a gyratory road junction, buses going west stop a minute's walk before or a minute's walk afterwards; buses going east are more convenient, stopping directly opposite.
If you're travelling to Edinburgh via public transport, note that the Haymarket Bar's only a minute from Haymarket Station, and the Airport buses have a Haymarket Station stop.
